7.1. Entering Records

You can create Birth Records records from it's tab or the dog's record (Breeder record types only) using related lists. Filling it out from the Dame's or Sire's record will auto-fill the Dame or Sire field.
 
Below are the fields included on the Birth Records records.

From Birth Records Tab

You can enter a new record from the Birth Records Tab.

Click New

Click New button to enter new record.

From Breeder's Record

You can enter a new record from the Breeder's record.

Click the Related Tab.

Find the Birth Records section. Click New button to enter new record.

Dame

6. Dame
Set the Dame . Dame is a lookup field to Dogs.

Reproduction Management Record

7. Reproduction Management Record
If available, set the Reproduction Management Record. This is a lookup field to Reproduction Management. It is best to create birth records from the Birth stage of a Reproduction Management record if you have all of the Heat, Mating, Gestation and Whelping records.

Sire

8. Sire
Set the Sire . Sire is a lookup field to Dogs.

Breed

9. Breed
Select the Breed. The options are based on settings entered by your Salesforce administrator.

Weight

Enter the birth weight of the puppy in ounces or grams.

Puppy Number

11. Puppy Number
Enter the order that this puppy was born as a number.

Color and Marking

List the color of the puppy and any markings.

Birth Date/Time

13. Birth Date/Time
Enter the date & time this puppy was born.

Identifier

If you use an identifier to distinguish the puppies, enter it here. Example: color of collar, nail polish, etc.

Gender

15. Gender
Select the gender of the puppy.

Puppy Name

16. Puppy Name
Only use this field if you are trying to link this record to an existing Dog record, otherwise use the Create Dog Record button after saving this record.

Naming Theme

17. Naming Theme
If this puppy is part of a naming theme, enter it here.

Click Save

18. Click Save
Click Save button to create the Birth Records record.
